This naif painting was signed by the late and well-known Haitian artist Prosper Pierre Louis from the Saint Soleil School. This painting represents a voodoo spirit. It is an original oil on canvas dated 1984.

Prospere Pierre Louis was born in 1947 in Jacmel; he died in 1995. He belonged to the Saint Soleil school. His art is internationally appreciated, and his references are in all major books about Haitian art. In his art book Peintres Haitiens, Gerald Alexis describes the artist as " an elder of the Saint-Soleil Movement, Pierre Louis was among the first to attempt this fascinating experience."
