Description

This vibrant oil on board painting by Sisson Blanchard reimagines a bird as a fantastical hybrid form, its body rendered as a husked corn cob and its wings fanned out into an elaborate plumage of red, white, and blue patterned feathers framed by dark fern-like fronds. The composition reflects the bold color and inventive symbolism characteristic of Haitian naive painting, blending natural and agricultural motifs into a single striking figure. Signed by the artist, this piece comes from a private collector in Florida. The artwork will ship directly to the client from the collector. The board is unframed and in good condition, consistent with its age, with warm surface patina, minor edge wear, and a few small nicks along the top and right edges. Our gallery will provide a certificate of authenticity upon purchase.
