Ralph Chapoteau is a well known Haitian painter born on September 16, 1954, in Gonaives, Haiti, and died in May 2024. He attended the Fine Arts Academy in 1974. His work was first exhibited in 1978 and showed throughout the Caribbean, including Haiti, Santo Domingo, and Guadeloupe. He married Josette Chapoteau in 2002, who has extensive experience in apparel design. They created together a designer fashion brand named Touta in May 2011. His art is rare to find and cited in the art book "La Peinture Haitienne/ Haitian Arts by Marie-Jose Gardere and Gerald Bloncourt, Editions Nathan, Paris, 1986, PP 156.
